Four Valpo Student-Athletes Receive Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars Award

Four Valparaiso University student-athletes received the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Awards as selected by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine. The award recognizes minority undergraduate students who have made achieving both academically and athletically a winning combination.

Valparaiso Recognizes 115 Student-Athletes at Annual Honors Banquet

Valparaiso University awarded 115 student-athletes with Presidential Honors while also handing out the Laurel Award at the 17th Annual Academic Honors Banquet for Student-Athletes which was held on Sunday evening in the Athletics-Recreation Center.

Guild Hosts Web Conference Featuring Director of Athletics Mark LaBarbera

The Valparaiso University Guild will present a web conference on Sunday, April 13 at 8:30 p.m. CDT.  Mark LaBarbera, Director of Athletics, is the featured presenter.  His presentation will focus on Valpo’s athletics program and student athletes.  The web conference, a live meeting presented over the Internet, is free to the public.

Cheer and Dance Tryouts to be Held for Current and Incoming Valpo Students

WVUR to Carry 40 Live Valpo Sporting Events this Spring

WVUR (95.1 FM-Valparaiso) has announced that the student-run radio station will broadcast more than 40 live baseball and softball games this spring beginning with the Crusader baseball game on Sunday, March 2 against Indiana in Clarksville, Tenn.

William Wilke Selected to Valpo's Hall of Fame

A distance runner throughout his career at Valparaiso, William Wilke turned his success as a student-athlete into success as a head coach upon graduation.  Due to his distinguished achievements, he will be inducted into the Valpo Hall of Fame on Saturday.

A Crusader record-holder in numerous categories on the soccer field, Lori Moore is among the best ever to play soccer in the Mid-Continent Conference, and accordingly will be inducted into the Valparaiso University Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 23.

Crusaders Place 87 Student-Athletes on Horizon League Academic Honor Roll

Valparaiso had a league-best 87 students honored as the Horizon League announced its 2007 Fall Academic Honor Roll today.  The league’s ten institutions combined for 624 honorees.

FITT Initiative Receives $1 Million Gift

For the past three years the “Our Valpo” initiative has sought support for capital projects across the Valparaiso University campus.  Part of this campaign has been the FITT (Football, Intramurals, Tennis, Track) initiative with a goal of constructing a new synthetic football field/tack complex and a new outdoor tennis court complex.
