Valparaiso University awarded 107 student-athletes with Presidential Honors while also handing out the Laurel Award at the 18th Annual Academic Honors Banquet for Student-Athletes which was held on Sunday evening in the Harre Union.

Valpo Signs Apparel Deal with Nike

The Valparaiso University athletic department and Nike have entered into an agreement that will make Nike the official provider of Crusader uniforms and apparel beginning with the 2009-2010 school year.

1997-1998 Men's Basketball Team to be Inducted into Valpo's Hall of Fame on February 28

Possibly more than any other single team at Valparaiso University, the 1997-1998 men's basketball team put the school on the national radar following its improbable run to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament and, on February 28, the team will be inducted into the Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame.

One of the most accomplished swimmers ever to take to the water at Valparaiso University, Tim Weidner holds five school records, including three individual events and, on February 28, he will be inducted into the Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame.

Valpo Adds Golf and Bowling to Intercollegiate Athletic Program

Valparaiso University is adding three sports to its intercollegiate athletics program beginning next fall. At a news conference held on campus this afternoon, Director of Athletics Mark LaBarbera announced that men's and women's golf and women's bowling will be added to the lineup of NCAA-affiliated programs.

Four Former Crusaders and One Team to be Inducted into Valpo's Hall of Fame as Class of 2009 on February 28

Four former student-athletes as well as the 1997-1998 men's basketball team will be inducted into the Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame on February 28 as members of the Class of 2009. This year's class features athletes from various Crusader athletic programs over the years.

Valpo Excels in Graduation Rates

Student-athletes at Valparaiso University are graduating at a higher rate than their classmates and their peers at many other universities, according to information released by the NCAA this fall.

Crusader Athletics Raising Money for Breast Cancer Awareness

Over the next two weeks, Valparaiso’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and its athletics teams will be selling pink t-shirts and accepting donations to raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and breast cancer awareness at all home athletics events.  The volleyball team will also be offering free admission for its Friday evening match against Butler to any fans who show up wearing pink.

WVUR to Continue Carrying Live Crusader Sports Action this Fall

WVUR (95.1 FM-Valparaiso) has announced that the student-run radio station will broadcast more than 50 live football, soccer, and volleyball games this fall, including several road contests this upcoming season.

Crusaders Place 82 Student-Athletes on Horizon League's Spring Academic Honor Roll

Valparaiso had 82 student-athletes honored as the Horizon League announced its 2008 Spring Academic Honor Roll, second most among conference schools.  The league’s 10 institutions combined for 632 honorees.

Valpo's Samble Appointed to NCAA Cabinet Position

Valparaiso University’s Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student Services/Senior Woman Administrator Jennifer Samble has been appointed to the NCAA’s administration cabinet and will begin a four-year term that runs through 2012.
