Valparaiso Announces Fall 2012 Broadcast Schedule

The Valparaiso athletics department will offer free live video of 16 home sporting events via the Horizon League Network during the fall 2012 season, while the Valpo Sports Radio Network will carry all 11 football games live and campus radio station WVUR will broadcast 25 events during the fall as well.

The HLN schedule kicks off with the football home opener against St. Joseph’s (Ind.) on Thursday night, August 30 at 7 p.m.  The schedule currently includes all 10 home volleyball matches, as well as two contests apiece from football, men’s soccer and women’s soccer.  In addition, six road volleyball matches and a pair of road women’s soccer games are also slated for broadcast by the host institutions on HLN.

The Valpo Sports Radio Network returns for the 2012 football season, with all 11 Crusader games available live on WAKE (1500 AM, Valparaiso) and online through www.valpoathletics.com.  New this year is a free Wake Radio App, available for the iPhone and Android devices, which will allow you to listen to Crusader football no matter where you may be.  Todd Ickow returns on the play-by-play, while Travis Lucian, currently the play-by-play voice of the Midwest League’s South Bend Silver Hawks, will join Ickow on color commentary at home.

WVUR (95.1 FM, Valparaiso) will kick off its fall broadcast schedule with women’s soccer against Kent State from Brown Field this Friday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m.  Valpo’s campus radio station is currently scheduled to broadcast ten volleyball matches, eight men’s soccer games and seven women’s soccer contests.  Every WVUR broadcast can also be heard live online through www.valpoathletics.com.
