Alumni Challenges Part of Day of Giving

The Athletics Alumni Challenge is back as part of Valparaiso University’s fifth annual Day of Giving, Proud to be Valpo.  Three challenge grants of $5,000 each are in play this year for the teams, or team, whose alumni win in separate alumni participation challenges.

All gifts, to any area of campus, given before the end of the Day of Giving on Wednesday, April 11 qualify alumni as participating in the challenge. Ann Bowman ’77 J.D. and Leroy Schramm ’66 are generously providing the challenge dollars to the athletic programs whose alumni participate the most.

- $5,000 will be awarded to the team which has the greatest number of their alumni make a gift to Valparaiso University before the end of the Day of Giving.

- $5,000 will be awarded to the team which has the highest percentage of their alumni make a gift to Valparaiso University before the end of the Day of Giving.

- $5,000 will be awarded to the team which has the greatest number of new alumni donors who make a gift to Valparaiso University before the end of the Day of Giving.

In addition, the Valpo Athletics athletic training room has one of five University crowdfunding projects open on the Day of Giving, as it looks to raise money to purchase a Vectra Genisys Laser, which will assist in getting injured student-athletes back into competition earlier than traditional therapies.
