Caroline McKiddy arrived at Valparaiso University as an associate athletic trainer during the 2015-2016 season. With more than 17 years of experience in the elite, collegiate and secondary settings, she is primarily responsible for the women’s basketball, cross country and bowling teams, providing injury prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation.

Prior to coming to Valparaiso, McKiddy spent a year and a half working for FleishmanHillard as an account supervisor for the Gatorade and Propel accounts providing consult in the field of athletic training, client relationship development with the athletic training and fitness communities, expanding influencer marketing strategies and collaborating in the development of education sessions, expo events and educational materials.

McKiddy spent two years working in the secondary school setting with local northwest Indiana high schools. She developed athletic training services for a newly-acquired school, tripling their accessibility to care over the first year. She has also had the pleasure of working with U.S. Soccer’s national teams, traveling to multiple international championships including the U-20 women’s World Cup in both 2012 and 2014 and CONCACAFF championships in 2014 as an athletic trainer.

From 2005-2011, McKiddy worked at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana working as an associate athletic trainer with the women’s soccer and cheerleading teams and one year with the women’s basketball program. Before coming to Illinois, McKiddy spent three years as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Chicago, working with football, men’s and women’s basketball and softball.

The Chicago native is a graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and a bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety Education. McKiddy spent the next two years at the University of Mississippi earning her master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Personnel, while serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for women’s softball.

Caroline currently resides in Chesterton, Ind. with her husband Donovan and two children, Emery and Callum.
