Head Coach Paul Twenge announced the award winners for the 2002 baseball season.

The Jeff Raymond Award went to Mark Pederson after starting all 48 games for the Crusaders and batting .300 with 51 hits and 19 RBIs.

Receiving three awards was Dan Schrum, who was named team Most Valuable Player after batting .314 with 43 hits, a team-high 13 home runs, and driving in 31 runs. He also captured the Slugging Percentage Award with a mark of .628.

Schrum also shares the Gold Glove Award with Mike Jaroscak. Both players ended the 2002 season with a fielding percentage of .981.

Jaroscak also received the team's Most Improved Award after batting .283 with 36 hits and 21 RBIs.

Receiving the Batting Average Award after leading the team with a .320 average was junior, now senior, Mark Boggio, who also was named Second Team All-Mid-Continent Conference.

The award for best Earned Run Average went to Rodney Benner after he pitched in 21 games and compiled an ERA of 2.61, striking out 19 in 20.2 innings pitched.

Rookie of the Year was awarded to Sean Peickert after batting .271 with 32 hits and 23 RBIs. Peickert was also named Second Team All-Mid-Continent Conference.

Kevin Perri was named the Junior Varsity MVP.
