Valpo-Eastern Kentucky Game Called Due to Heavy Rain
Wednesday, March 9, 2005
Bradenton, Fla. - Valpo's game against Eastern Kentucky was called in the bottom of the third inning due to heavy rain in Bradenton, Fla. The Crusaders were leading 3-1 at the time of the cancellation.

Severely wet conditions made the field unplayable, thus forcing the cancellation.

Valpo held a 3-1 lead after plating three unearned runs in the bottom of the first. Catcher Josh Piazza put Valpo on the board with a two-run triple, then Brian Rzepka followed with a run-scoring double.

No statistics from today's game will count since five innings were not completed.

Valpo concludes its Spring Trip with a 2-6 record. The Crusaders' next game is next Tuesday (March 15) at Lewis beginning at 2 p.m.
