Monday, April 26, 2004
Tom Starck, a lefthander, was named Mid-Continent Conference Pitcher of the Week after tossing a complete-game, three-hit shutout (1-0) against Oakland on Saturday.

A senior from Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph's, Starck struck out 11 Golden Grizzlies and walked just one in 9 innings. Starck's performance improved his record to 4-5 and lowered his ERA to 2.75, third-best in the conference.

The honor is Starck's second this season as he won Mid-Con Pitcher of the Week in late March.
