Valpo Defeated by Bowling Green in Bradenton

Bradenton, Fla. - A five-run fifth inning propelled Bowling Green to a 13-3 victory over Valpo. Kevin Perri had a two-run single for the Crusaders (2-6).

The Falcons finished with 18 hits, including three by Nolan Reimold, who had four RBIs.

Korey Pulluaim and Chad Pierce had Valpo's other hits.

Valpo scored all three runs in the bottom of the seventh. Pulluaim, Joe Lazar and Jon Rupno began the frame with three consecutive walks. Perri followed with a two-run single. With two outs, Matt Augustine walked to load the bases and Pierce was hit by a pitch to plate the other run.

Elliott Gibbs suffered the loss, allowing five earned runs on nine hits in 4 innings. The sophomore righthander struck out three and walked two. Bowling Green used five pitchers.

Valpo will play Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Bradenton.
