Baseball Golf Outing a Success
The winning foursome from the Crusader baseball golf outing.

Valparaiso baseball alumni and friends of the program gathered on a beautiful, sunny day for the annual golf outing Saturday, Sept. 29th at The Course at Aberdeen in Valparaiso, Ind.  Following the outing, many gathered at Inman’s to join in a bowling event.

The team of Jake Diebler, Luke Gore, Matt Blair, and Larry Achten was the winning golf foursome, while Steve Hanson, Jake Hanson, Randy Shaddick, and Spark Larkin were runners-up.  The four winners of the “Closest to the Pin” contest were Tracey Walsh, Cole Webb, Steve Hanson and Paul Klehr, while Jeff Mandsager was the “Longest Drive” winner.

“We had over 120 golfers, which is the best turnout since I have been here,” said Valpo head coach Tracy Woodson. “It is very important to us that our current team members meet our alumni who are credited for helping build our baseball program to where it is today. We strive to make our alumni and friends of the program proud of what we accomplish on and off the field.”

“I want to thank all the people at Aberdeen and Inman’s and those who participated to make this a first-class event,” concluded Woodson.
