Spencer Mahoney (La Grange Park, Ill./Lyons Township)'s move to the leadoff spot has paid immediate dividends for the junior. Today, the Horizon League named Mahoney as the season's first Batter of the Week. 

On Friday, he was 2-for-3 with a pair of walks, an RBI, and a run scored. He followed that up with a 3-for-5 afternoon with three runs, two runs batted in, two doubles and a walk on Saturday. The shortstop wrapped up the series Sunday with his third multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a run scored, an RBI, a walk and a stolen base.

In sum, Mahoney was 7-for-12 (.583) at the dish with four walks, four RBIs, and a stolen base. 

The Crusaders (2-1) will return to Alabama Friday to face Jacksonville State in a three-game series. First pitch is set for 3 pm CT.
