Football Program Announced Year-End Awards

Valparaiso University head coach Stacy Adams handed out year-end awards to the Crusader football team at the program's season-ending banquet recently.

Wide receive Steve Ogden (Wauwatosa, Wis./West H.S.) was named the Offensive Player of the Year as well as winning the Offensive Helmet for most decals won during the season. Defensive lineman Jimmy Riker (Tekonsha, Mich./Tekonsha H.S.) was the recipient of the Defensive Player of the Year as well as winning the Defensive Helmet.

Adam Rundh (Aalborg, Denmark Orjanskolan H.S. [Sweden]) was named the Special Teams Player of the Year while Ben Faulkner (Hammond, Ind./Bishop Noll H.S.) was named the Most Improved Player.

Brandon Bogenschutz (Cleveland, Wis./North H.S.) received the Richard P. Koenig Award, given to the player exemplifying moral character, as well as academic and athletic achievement.

Seungyeup Ro (Palatine, Ill./Fremd H.S.) was awarded the Joe Sever Trophy that honors the lineman who exemplifies excellent work ethic and high-quality performance.
