2018 All-PFL Honorable Mention 

2018: Received All-PFL Honorable Mention... Finished third on the team with 80 tackles (35 solos) including a team-high 9.5 TFL for 45 yards… Ranked seventh in the PFL with 7.3 tackles per game and second in the league with 5.5 sacks, 0.5 per game…Tied for eighth in the PFL with 9.5 TFL, 0.86 per game…  Led the team in sacks with 5.5 for 38 yards and had a forced fumble… Was the only player in the PFL with at least 2.0 sacks in multiple games during the season… Started the year with his first career double-figure tackle performance as he racked up 10 in the Sept. 8 season opener at Duquesne… Had 2.0 sacks on Oct. 27 vs. Drake, the most by a Valpo player in a game since John Guilford in 2015… Had a season-high 11 tackles on Nov. 3 to establish a new personal best and share the team lead in the game at Marist. Also forced a fumble in that game… Finished the season with the most TFL by a Valpo player since John Guilford has 12 in 2015, the most sacks since Guilford also had 5.5 in 2014 and the most yards from sacks (38) by any Valpo player since Adam Rundh had 55 in 2007.

2017: Switched to linebacker for the 2017 season… Appeared in nine games and made seven starts… Made 42 tackles including 23 solos… Had 1.5 tackles for loss (4 yards)… Shared the team lead with three interceptions… Forced a fumble in the Sept. 2 season opener at Montana… Made his first career interception on Oct. 14 vs. Marist, one of five Valpo picks in a 49-15 win over the Red Foxes… Grabbed his second and third interceptions of the year in to account for half of Valpo’s four interceptions in a 63-32 win vs. Morehead State on Oct. 28… Had a career-high nine tackles on Nov. 11 at Butler, helping the Crusaders to a 36-28 win over the rival Bulldogs… Only Crusader with a multiple interception game in 2017.

2016: Played in eight games during his freshman season, mostly on special teams... Made two tackles in his collegiate debut on Sept. 24 vs. Davidson... Made his first appearance at running back on Nov. 5 at Dayton, rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. 

Prep: A three-year letter winner for the Spartans ... earned Honorable Mention All-State honors as a senior ... a two-time First Team All-Metro West and All-Conference selection ... team captain as a senior ... holds program records for most all-purpose yards in a single game (349) and longest passing touchdown (99 yards) ... also earned two letters apiece in baseball and track and field.

Personal: Son of Tod Truxell and Kimberly Petrie-Truxell ... Majoring in physical education… Worked for his step dad’s company Truxell Electric handling pick-up and delivery while working part-time at Legacy Fitness during the summer prior his senior season… Has become quite talented with the kendama, a traditional Japanese skill toy… Came to Valpo as a running back before transitioning to linebacker… Is the only member of his family who has played a collegiate sport… Mother is actively involved in the Valpo football program as a team mom… Hopes to follow in Griffin Norberg’s footsteps and play professional football in Europe after graduation… Plans to become a physical education teacher.
