Tony Rouse completed his fifth season as a member of the Valparaiso coaching staff in 2018. He works directly with the team's defensive linemen and also serves as the program's strength and conditioning coach.

Rouse has been on staff throughout Valpo's impressive turnaround as the team went from winning three games - all against the same opponent - in the four years prior to his arrival, to enjoying its first winning season since 2003 in 2017. Head coach Dave Cecchini has praised Rouse's efforts in improving the team's strength and conditioning, while the defensive line has thrived during Rouse's time with the program.

Rouse served as the strength and conditioning/defensive line coach at Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Mich. from 2011-2013 after completing an internship in the same field with the University of Michigan football team in 2010. Prior to his time at Concordia University, Rouse was the head strength and conditioning/defensive line coach at Birmingham Groves (Mich.) High School for six seasons from 2006-2011.

The Michigan native oversaw strength, speed and conditioning workouts for the Eastern Michigan University football and baseball teams during an internship there. Rouse earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Oakland University in 2006 and a degree in secondary education from Madonna University in 2008.
