Senior Raitis Grafs was selected as the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Week. The 6'11" center from Riga, Latvia scored a season-high 28 points to lead Valpo to an 87-79 double-overtime win over Samford Saturday. He drained 11 of 12 free throws and made 8 of 15 shots from the field against the Bulldogs.

On Wednesday, Grafs led the Crusaders with 15 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots in a road loss to Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

For the week, Grafs averaged 21.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks, while shooting .591 (13-22) from the floor and an outstanding .889 (16-18) at the free throw line.
