Valpo Basketball Receives Two National Letters of Intent

Valparaiso men’s basketball head coach Homer Drew announced today that Erik Buggs and Logan Jones have signed National Letters of Intent during the early signing period and will join the Crusader squad as freshmen for the 2008-2009 campaign.

Buggs, a 5’8” guard from White Station H.S. in Memphis, Tenn., will bring exceptional speed to the point guard position for the Crusaders.  Buggs is ranked among the top-15 players from the state of Tennessee in the class of 2008 and is a McDonald’s All-American nominee.  He averaged nine points and four assists per game for White Station as a junior.

Jones, a 6’2” guard out of Madison H.S. in Madison, Ind., ranks among the best senior basketball players in Indiana and was chosen to play on the Indiana Junior All-Stars team last summer.  Jones has led Madison to back-to-back regional final appearances the last two seasons and averaged 20.9 points per game as a junior for the Cubs.
