Diebler Named League's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week
Jake Diebler was the Horizon League's U.S. Army Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

Valparaiso's Jake Diebler (Upper Sandusky, Ohio/Upper Sandusky) was named the Horizon League’s U.S. Army male Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 21.

Despite breaking his nose early on against top-ranked North Carolina, Diebler returned to the lineup and played 27 solid minutes.  The senior chipped in two points, one rebound, one assist and two steals, and currently leads the Crusader men with 17 steals on the season.

In the classroom, Diebler maintains a 3.57 cumulative GPA as a marketing major with communications and theology minors.  Named to the NABC Honors Court last year, Diebler also earned a spot on the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll both semesters for the 2007-08 academic year.  This marks his second career Scholar-Athlete of the Week accolade.
