Valparaiso men’s basketball head coach Bryce Drew announced today that Hrvoje Vucic has asked for and been granted a release from his commitment to the Valpo basketball program, and that Richie Edwards has been granted a release from his commitment for family reasons.  Both players will be transferring.

“The Valpo basketball program would like to thank Richie and Hrvoje for all of their effort and contributions to our program,” said Drew.  “They have helped our program tremendously and are going to be missed.  We wish both of them great success in the future.”

Edwards played in 30 games in his lone season as a Crusader in 2011-2012, averaging 9.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while pacing Valpo in scoring on six occasions.  Vucic spent three seasons at Valparaiso, redshirting his first year on campus before playing the last two seasons, tallying 43 points and 45 rebounds.
