The Valparaiso men’s basketball team will host Detroit live on ESPN2 on Saturday, February 16 as part of ‘Rivalry Week’, highlighting the 16-game Horizon League slate for the Crusaders as released by the league office Thursday morning.

The matchup against the Titans will mark the second consecutive meeting at the ARC between the two squads that will be broadcast live on one of the top-two ESPN networks, as last year’s Horizon League title game between the two teams was carried live on ESPN.  In addition, the Crusaders travel to Cleveland State the previous Saturday, February 9, in a game which is one of two options to be carried on ESPN2.  The full schedule of Horizon League games on the ESPN family of networks will be released at a later date.

The 16-game, double round robin schedule kicks off for Valpo on Wednesday, January 2, as the Crusaders host Loyola at the ARC.  The schedule culminates with a game at Green Bay on Saturday, March 2, leading into the 2013 Horizon League Championship.  The currently released schedule can be found at http://www.valpoathletics.com/mbasketball/schedule/, with the full non-league schedule to be released in the near future.
