Head Coach Bryce Drew: Bryce Drew returns for his second season at the helm of the Valparaiso men’s basketball program in 2012-2013 after leading the Crusaders to the Horizon League regular season title in his first year as head coach. Drew was named the Horizon League Coach of the Year after guiding Valpo to a 22-win campaign, including a 14-4 mark within the league to capture the title by two games. Drew ascended to the head coaching position on May 17, 2011 after spending six seasons as an assistant and associate head coach with the Crusaders.

Series Notes: Valpo owns a 5-2 lead in the all-time series against Saint Louis, but four of those wins came in the early 1920s. The teams have not met on the hardwood since January of 1998, a 77-66 SLU win in St. Louis. In fact, that was Valpo’s last loss in 1998 leading in to its run to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, where it would eventually fall to Rhode Island, also in St. Louis.
