Broekhoff Heading to Portsmouth Invitational Tournament
Ryan Broekhoff is heading to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.

Valparaiso forward Ryan Broekhoff (Frankston, Victoria, Australia/Australian Institute of Sport) is one of 64 collegiate seniors who will participate in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament next week, in front of scouts from every NBA team and numerous international leagues.

Since 1953, the P.I.T has invited 64 of the best college basketball seniors from across the nation to participate in a four-day, twelve game tournament.  Portsmouth has played host over the years to five players who would go on to be named among the 50 greatest players in NBA history, as well as many others who have gone on to NBA stardom.

Broekhoff has been assigned to the K&D Round’s Landscaping team, coached by Jim Markey and Patrick Dulin and NBA assistant coach Scottie Pippen.  Broekhoff’s teammates include Mouphtaou Yarou (Villanova), Brandon Davies (BYU), Keith Clanton (UCF), D.J. Seeley (Cal State-Fullerton), Ian Clark (Belmont), Elijah Johnson (Kansas) and Mark Lyons (Arizona).

Broekhoff’s squad will begin tournament play at 6 p.m. CT this coming Wednesday, April 10.  Fans can visit https://www.portsmouthinvitational.com/SCHEDULE_RESULTS.html for results and boxscores from each of the tournament games, and also follow @ValpoBasketball on Twitter for Broekhoff’s performances.
