Harris Returns Home Following Release From the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago

Valparaiso University men's basketball player Kenny Harris was released from the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and has returned home. Harris, a sophomore who was hospitalized on April 11 after collapsing while participating in weight training exercises, was transferred to the RIC on May 11.

?The Valparaiso University Athletics Department is excited that Kenny Harris' recovery has progressed to the point that he has been discharged from the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago," said Mark LaBarbera, VU's Director of Athletics. "The VU community celebrates along with the Jollys (Harris' parents), Kenny's return to his Northwest Indiana home. We look forward to Kenny's continued progress and to the point in time where he will be able to rejoin his fellow students on campus."

Harris was hospitalized on April 11 in the Intensive Care Unit at Porter's Valparaiso Hospital Campus. After he was transferred to the Neuro-ICU at the University of Chicago Hospitals on April 20, Harris was transferred to the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago on May 11.
