Valparaiso's Jarryd Loyd (Lincolnwood, Ill./Niles West) has been selected to attend the 2007 NCAA Leadership Conference May 27-31 at Disney's Coronado Springs Report in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

“This is a wonderful honor for Jarryd," said Crusader men's basketball head coach Homer Drew. “It is a testament to his leadership ability, which he has demonstrated through his work as a team captain this year as well as the initiative he shows with ideas such as Unity Fest this past fall."

Loyd, a junior men's basketball player, is a finance major. He was chosen from among 1,308 nominations from 330 institutions. A total of 356 student-athletes were chosen to participate in the conference.

“It's quite a compliment for Jarryd to be in this select group," said Drew. “It is our hope that he learns even more in the way of leadership from this conference and that he returns to campus with ideas to help enhance our athletic programs."
