Wednesday, October 31, 2007

Valparaiso University and Lakeshore Public Television announced today that nine Crusader basketball games during the 2007-2008 season will be televised live throughout Chicagoland on Lakeshore PTV.

“Lakeshore Public Television’s sports information is top notch,” said Valparaiso Athletic Director Mark LaBarbera.  “We are excited about the exposure as our program enters its first season in the Horizon League.”

The broadcast schedule kicks off Saturday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m. when the Crusader men take on Ball State.  Broadcast veteran Dick Harlan will again be joined by Lakeshore PTV’s own Joe Arredondo to form the broadcast team.  The men’s squad will have a total of six home and two road games broadcast on Lakeshore, while the women’s team will be featured on Thursday, February 7 at 7:05 p.m. against Loyola.

With the eight games on Lakeshore PTV, the Crusader men can be seen on television 11 times this season, joining the December 22 game at Wisconsin (Big Ten Network), the December 30 game at North Carolina (Fox Sports Net) and the February 5 game against Butler (ESPN2).  In addition, 24 men’s games and 22 women’s games will be videocast online through the Horizon League Network.
