Crusaders Talk to Local Youths About Importance of Being Drug-Free
Crusader players address the assembly at Memorial Elementary School Monday afternoon.

A number of Valpo men’s basketball players spent time Monday afternoon at Memorial Elementary School in Valparaiso, helping to kick off the school’s “Red Ribbon Week.”

Cory Johnson, Matt Kenney and Nick Shelton all took time to address the students at the week’s opening assembly Monday afternoon, talking to the kids, who were all wearing red clothes or ribbons, about the importance of saying no to drugs.  The trio listed different activities they take part in to help keep them away from drugs, and encouraged the youngsters to work hard, both in school and in athletics.
