As the top seed for the 2012 Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship, Valparaiso will host fifth-seeded Butler at the ARC Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.  The Bulldogs advanced to Saturday’s semifinals after defeating fourth-seeded Milwaukee on Friday night, 71-49.

Valpo has defeated Butler three straight times, including both meetings in the 2011-2012 season.  The Crusaders won in Indianapolis, 77-71 in overtime, and then defeated the Bulldogs in the regular season finale at the ARC last Friday night, 71-59.  The matchup between the Crusaders and Bulldogs can be seen live on ESPNU and heard live on the Valpo Sports Radio Network, with links for both, as well as live stats, available at www.valpoathletics.com.

Saturday’s first semifinal features second-seeded Cleveland State, which also received a double bye into the semis, against third-seeded Detroit, which downed Youngstown State earlier Friday by a 93-76 score, at 5 p.m. at the ARC.  Tickets for Saturday’s session are still available in person at the Valpo Ticket Office, located in the main lobby of the ARC, and online at www.valpoathletics.com/tickets.
