Valpo Men’s Basketball to Play in Hurricane Relief Exhibition at Chicago State

The Valparaiso University men’s basketball team will join the multitude of Division I men’s basketball programs nationwide helping to raise funds and awareness for victims of recent national disasters, as the Crusaders travel to Chicago on Saturday, Nov. 4 for a 3 p.m. exhibition game at Chicago State.

The exhibition game will help raise awareness and financial support for hurricane relief efforts, including those affected in the Houston, Texas area. Admission is free for the game, while there is a suggested donation of $10 – all proceeds will be donated to the Lutheran World Relief organization.

Valpo and Chicago State played each other in the regular season each of the last two years and have a total of 36 matchups all-time in a series dating back to 1994, but next Saturday marks the first meeting in exhibition play between the two programs.

The exhibition matchup with the Cougars comes two days after the Crusaders’ previously scheduled exhibition game, as Valpo hosts Robert Morris (Ill.) at the ARC on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
