Valpo Men Finish 23rd at Notre Dame

Valparaiso's men's cross country team finished in 23rd place at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday afternoon in South Bend, Ind. as the Crusaders competed in the gold race.

The Crusaders finished with 657 points while Calvin won the race.

Jim Turchyn (Batesville, Ind./Batesville H.S.) led the way for the Brown and Gold with a 132nd place finish with a time of 27:20. Michael Brouch (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy) was 12 seconds behind his teammate crossing the line in 27:30 while Leandro Schultz (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights H.S.) was 159th with a time of 27:50.

Jordan Stanfill (Goshen, Ind./Goshen H.S.) finished in 27:57, 169th overall, while Josh Parker (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park H.S.) rounded out the scorers with a time of 28:04 over the eight-kilometer course, placing 174th.

Those runners that did not compete in the Notre Dame Invitational will run on Saturday at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational, beginning at 12:45 p .m.
