Led by senior Wally Bradford (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago), the Valparaiso men's cross country team ran to a 12th-place showing Friday afternoon at the Indiana Intercollegiates in Terre Haute, Ind.

The Crusaders tallied 374 points to finish in 12^th place out of 27 teams. Indiana won the team title with 49 points, while Indiana State's John Mascari ran to the individual title with a time of 24:42.4.

Bradford paced the Crusader contingent for the second time in as many races in 2012, covering the 8K course in 26:18.8, good for a 51st-place finish. Junior Matthew Przybyla (Whitmore Lake, Mich./Pinckney) was the second Valpo runner to cross the line, finishing in 67^th place with a time of 26:51.5.

Sophomore Eric Hickok (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) ran to a 83rd-place finish, completing the eight kilometers in 27:22.6, while sophomore David Rutkowski (Cedarburg, Wis./Living Word Lutheran) was the fourth-fastest Crusader with a time of 27:41.6, finishing in 100^th place. Sophomore Trace Ostergren (LaPorte, Ind./Culver Academy) rounded out Valpo's scoring runners, finishing in 115^th place with a time of 27:55.9.

Valparaiso returns to action in two weeks, traveling east to take part in the Notre Dame Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind. on Friday, September 28.
