Bryan Bennett Named Valpo's Assistant Golf Coach

Valparaiso University head men’s and women’s golf coach Mike Higdon has announced the hiring of Bryan Bennett as his assistant coach for both programs.

Bennett arrives at Valpo after a stint as the head golf coach for the past four seasons at Kouts High School. He was a PGA assistant golf professional from 1994-2001 before regaining his amateur status in 2007.

Bennett was an Academic All-American selection at the University of Nebraska, where he graduated in 1994 with a degree in communications.  He also won the individual and team junior college national championship at Long BeachCity College in 1990.  As a high school golfer in Long Beach, Calif., he finished fourth in the California state championship for Los Alamitos High School.

Bennett currently still competes as an amateur on both the regional and national level.
