Valpo's Kalita Earns Horizon League Honors

Valparaiso University’s Josh Kalita (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) has been named the Horizon League’s Golfer of the Week for his performance at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday.

The sophomore finished in a tie for 18th out of 67 individuals over the 36-hole event held in Spring Hill, Tenn.  Kalita carded rounds of 76 and 75 to finish at 151, his lowest 36-hole event of the season.

Kalita shared the team’s low tournament score with Kyle Henning (Brookfield, Wis./East H.S.), helping to lead the Crusaders to a shared ninth place finish as a team.

Kalita is Valpo’s earned Valpo’s first Horizon League honor since the university reinstated the golf program prior to the 2009-2010 season.
