Kalita Earns Spot on Academic All-Horizon League Team
Josh Kalita was voted to the Academic All-League Team.

Josh Kalita (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.), a sophomore Valparaiso University golfer, has been voted to the Academic All-Horizon League Team.  He is one of seven total men’s golfers in the conference to receive the honor.

Kalita averaged 77.7 for the Brown and Gold in his second year of collegiate competition, playing in nine different tournaments.  He shot a career-low round of 72 on his way to a tie for second place in a triangular match against Green Bay and Chicago State.  He also dropped his stroke average by more than a shot from his freshman season.   Kalita carries a 3.82 grade point average as a business marketing major.

To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher and have completed at least one year at the member institution.  The teams are voted upon by the school’s faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.
