Men's Golf Adds Cutler for 2014-15 Season
Zach Cutler will join the Crusaders next season.

The defending Horizon League champion Valparaiso men's golf program announced it will be adding one of the top golfers from the state of Missouri next season, as Zach Cutler (O'Fallon, Mo./Timberland) signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Crusaders as a freshman for the 2014-15 season.

"We are real excited for Zach to be a part of the Valparaiso family," said Crusader head coach David Gring. "Zach brings a tremendous level of success from his high school and summer golf tournament experiences, with numerous accolades, achievements, and victories that really represent his work ethic, desire, and passion for golf. His attitude is exemplary, and Zach is a great fit for our program."

Cutler was a key part of the Wolves' Class 4 state championship team last season as a junior, finishing as the individual runner-up at the state tournament and earning All-State accolades. A First Team All-Conference honoree for the second time in 2013, he earned the individual district championship prior to his runner-up showing at states. Named a Player to Watch by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch as well, he was conference Golfer of the Year in 2012 as a sophomore.

Also a success in the classroom, Cutler was an Academic All-Conference honoree. He is also a member of the National Honor Society.

"Zach comes from a wonderful family, who provides great encouragement and the resources that he needs to be successful," said Gring. "Additionally, his performance in the classroom is distinguished, with a GPA and academic achievements that rival his performances on the golf course. Zach represents the type of student-athlete that we are looking for in our program. The guys on our team are excited for Zach to be an important part of our program!"
