15 Crusaders Earn Spring Academic All-League Honors
15 Valparaiso student-athletes earned spots on the Horizon League Spring Academic All-League teams, as announced by the league office this morning. Men’s outdoor track and field had five athletes honored, while baseball, men’s golf and women’s outdoor track and field each had three selections to go with one from men’s tennis.

Pair of Crusaders Earn All-Tournament Honors as Valpo Men Finish Fourth
Sophomores Nick Seitz (Xenia, Ohio/Carroll) and Peter Webb (Madison, Wis./James Madison Memorial) both claimed All-Tournament accolades as the Horizon League Championship came to a close Sunday. Seitz and Webb led the way for the Valparaiso University men’s golf team en route to a fourth-place finish.

Seitz, Webb Lead Crusaders on Saturday at HL Championship
Led by sophomore Nick Seitz, who sits in third place individually after 36 holes, the Valparaiso University men’s golf team maintained its hold on fourth place at the Horizon League Championship Saturday and is in a position to move up the team leaderboard during the final round on Sunday. Sophomore Peter Webb is tied for ninth after two rounds as well.

Crusader Men Fourth After Day One at HL Championship
The Valparaiso University men’s golf team sits in fourth place after the opening day of the Horizon League Championship from Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. on Friday, just one shot out of third position and within striking distance of the top teams. Sophomore Nick Seitz paced Valpo on Friday with an opening-round 74.

Gring Named Horizon League Coach of the Year; Seitz, Webb Earn All-League Honors
For the second time in three years, Valparaiso University men’s golf head coach David Gring was named Horizon League Coach of the Year in a vote of his peers, as the league held its annual awards banquet preceding the league tournament Thursday evening. In addition, the Crusaders placed a pair of golfers on the All-League squad, as sophomores Nick Seitz and Peter Webb earned All-League accolades.

Men's and Women's Golf Set For Horizon League Championships
The Valparaiso University men’s and women’s golf teams have invaded the Sunshine State, looking to bring home the hardware from the 2015 Horizon League Golf Championships at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. this weekend. Men's golf head coach David Gring and women's golf head coach Mat Blair joined the Valpo Coaches Show prior to their departure to preview the championship event.

Crusaders Complete Final Tuneup For Horizon League Championship
The Valparaiso University men’s golf team wrapped up regular season play Sunday when they headed to the clubhouse after the final 18 holes at the Wolfpack Spring Open in Raleigh, N.C. The Crusaders held their ground and finished in ninth place after shooting a 296, two shots better than the previous day.

Crusaders Begin Wolfpack Spring Open Saturday
The Valparaiso University men’s golf team took to the links Saturday afternoon for the start of its last tournament before the Horizon League Championships. This time, the action took place at the Lonnie Poole Golf Club, in Raleigh, N.C. for the Wolfpack Spring Open. Over the opening 18 holes of a 36-hole tournament, the Crusaders carded a 298 as a team and currently sit in ninth place behind leader and tournament host North Carolina State.

Crusaders Bring Home Title From Wright State
The Valparaiso men’s golf team claimed its second tournament championship of the season on Monday afternoon, as the Crusaders defeated Northern Kentucky in a playoff by one stroke to bring home the title from the Wright State Invitational.

The Valparaiso men’s golf team put itself in prime position to capture its second tournament championship of the season, as the Crusaders closed out the first 36 holes of the 54-hole Wright State Invitational on Sunday in second place out of nine competing teams. Jared Magoline enters Monday second in the individual standings, just one stroke out of the lead.

Men’s Golf Concludes Action in Louisiana
The Valparaiso men’s golf team wrapped up the second tournament of its spring campaign when the Crusaders took to the links Tuesday for the final 18 holes at the Wallace Jones Invitational in Delhi, La. The team continued to show consistency, posting a 297 for the second straight round and finishing with a team total of 892.

Valpo Men Take to Links in Louisiana
While Northwest Indiana received several inches of snow on Monday morning, the Crusaders men’s golf team was hitting the links at Black Bear Golf Club in Delhi, La. for the Wallace Jones Invitational, its second tournament of the spring season. The Crusaders finished the day in ninth place.

The Valpo men's golf team concluded their first tournament of the spring on Tuesday in Myrtle Beach, S.C. at the Bash at the Beach. The Crusaders finished in 11th place and were paced by Peter Webb's 211, two under par.

Kalita Named Men’s Golf Assistant Coach
Former Crusader Josh Kalita returns to the men's golf program as an assistant coach. Kalita was a four-year member of the team from 2009-2013 and was a senior on the 2013 Horizon League Championship squad.

Wittmann Signs NLI with Men’s Golf
Valparaiso men’s golf coach Dave Gring announced today that Mitchell Wittmann has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Crusader golf program as a freshman in the fall of 2015. Wittmann is ranked first in the WPGA Class of 2015.
