The good news continued to pour in for the Valparaiso University men’s golf team on Wednesday afternoon as senior Peter Webb (Madison, Wis. / James Madison Memorial) was named the Horizon League Golfer of the Week for the second time this season and the sixth time in his collegiate career.
Webb continued his stellar senior season with another strong performance at Ball State's Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in Muncie. He carded a 209 in the event to finish in third of 85. Webb's best round was Round 1, when he stroked a 68. He finished one stroke under par and one stroke behind the two players who tied for first.
Webb led all Horizon League golfers in a field that also included Cleveland State, Wright State, Northern Kentucky and Youngstown State. Since the Valpo men's golf program resumed in 2009, there have been 23 rounds of 68 or lower. Webb owns over half (12) of those rounds.
Webb and the Crusaders will compete in the Horizon League Championship at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. beginning on Sunday, April 23.
