Monday, October 28, 2002
Valparaiso University freshman goalkeeper Jeff Oleck (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral H.S.) has been named Mid-Continent Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

He helped keep the Crusaders in a first-place tie in the Mid-Con standings with his fourth shutout of the season in Valpo's 0-0 tie with co-leader Oakland on Sunday afternoon.

Oleck made eight saves against the Golden Grizzlies attack, which saw 28 total shots fired in the general direction of the Crusaders net.

His four shutouts this season tie him for second place on the Brown and Gold's single season list.

Oleck was also named Mid-Con Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 9.
