Valparaiso scored a goal in the final minute of each half as the Crusaders downed Northwestern 2-0 on Friday afternoon in Evanston, Ill. to record their first victory in 2002.

Ben Olson (Oregon, Wis./Oregon H.S.) headed home a Jon Flugstad (San Antonio, Texas/Robert E. The markers were the first of the year for each.

The Wildcats (2-2) outshot Valpo 11-7 for the match and held a 9-6 advantage on corner kicks, but freshman Jeff Oleck (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral H.S.) made five saves to notch his first career shutout.

The Crusaders (1-2) return to action on Sunday afternoon when they host Evansville at Eastgate Field for their home opener. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
