Valpo Falls at IUPUI 1-0

Adrian Conrad's first goal of the season was the difference, as IUPUI shutout Valparaiso 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in a Mid-Continent Conference match held in Indianapolis, Ind.

Conrad scored on a header from the back post off of a Michael Bowditch corner kick at the 59:04 mark in the second half to provide the Jaguars with their first conference victory of the season.

IUPUI (2-11-2, 1-2-1 Mid-Con) outshot Valpo 15-9 for the match and held a 9-4 advantage on shots on goal. Jeff Oleck (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral H.S.) made seven saves for the Brown and Gold, while Peter Brasovan made four stops for the Jaguars.

IUPUI also held a 10-4 advantage in corner kick opportunities, including an 8-4 edge in the second half. Valpo was whistled for 22 fouls, while IUPUI committed 23 in a match which saw seven yellow cards handed out.

Valparaiso (2-9-2, 1-3) will return to action next Saturday when the Brown and Gold travels to Rochester, Mich. for a noon CDT match with Oakland.
