Valparaiso placed a league-high ten student-athletes over five sports on the Horizon League's 2012 Fall Academic All-League Teams, as announced by the league office.

Men's soccer and volleyball each had three Crusaders honored, while the women's soccer team placed a pair of members on the Academic All-League squad. Men's and women's cross country each had one student-athlete recognized as well.

Men's Soccer (3)
Kevin Miller - Sr. - Started 18 times on defense for the Crusaders in 2012 as part of a unit that surrendered a league-low 17 goals on the season. Owns a 3.956 cumulative GPA as a physics major.
Todd Vervynckt - Jr. - Finished second on the team with three goals and nine assists on the season. Owns a 3.980 cumulative GPA as a mechanical engineering major. Was named a CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-American.
Kyle Zobeck - 5th/Sr. - Repeated as Horizon League Goalkeeper of the Year after leading the league in goals against average. Graduated with a 3.970 cumulative GPA as a mechanical engineering major.

Women's Soccer (2)
Rachel Hoaglin - Sr. - Started all 19 matches in the midfield for Valpo in 2012, closing out her career among the top-10 in Valpo history in goals, assists and points. Owns a 3.765 cumulative GPA as a marketing and sports management major. Named to the NSCAA Scholar All-North/Central Region First Team.
Kristen Manski - Jr. - Finished sixth in the nation in goals against average and 14th in save percentage, setting new Valpo single-season records in both categories. Owns a 3.642 cumulative GPA as a psychology major.

Men's Cross Country (1)
David Rutkowski - So. - Ran among Valpo's top-five in all six races, including leading the Crusaders at the Evansville Invitational. Also placed second at the HL Championships and the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. Owns a 3.743 cumulative GPA as a mechanical engineering major.

Women's Cross Country (1)
Jessica Richardson - So. - Posted five top-ten finishes in her six races in 2012, including a fourth-place finish at the HL Championships. Moved into top-five in Crusader history in both the 5K and 6K. Owns a 3.919 cumulative GPA as an economics major.

Volleyball (3)
Sarah Dooms - Jr. - Regular at outside hitter for the Crusaders, finished eighth in the league in digs. Also ranked fourth in league-only play in aces. Owns a 3.789 cumulative GPA as a communication major.
Lindsey Hauch - Jr./So. - Appeared in all 33 matches in 2012 for Valpo, ranking second on the team in aces and third in digs. Owns a 3.716 cumulative GPA as a nursing major.
Taylor Root - Sr. - Named HL Defensive Player of the Year and an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American for the third straight year. Finished career fourth in NCAA history in digs. Owns a 3.637 cumulative GPA as a elementary education major.
