#oneVALPO Initiative Moving Into the Valpo Community
With the start of the new year, Valparaiso head men's soccer coach Mike Avery and his players have resolved to continue to promote the highly successful #oneVALPO diversity / inclusion initiative.  Year one of the #oneVALPO initiative featured the men's soccer program working to spread the message around the Valparaiso University campus, and the focus in the second year now shifts to moving the message off campus and out into the Valparaiso community.  Targeting local schools, organizations and businesses, Coach Avery and his squad look to spread a positive message about diversity and inclusion.

Coach Avery and his players kicked off this next phase of the #oneVALPO initiative in December with an all-school assembly at St. Paul Catholic School, and have plans to visit other community schools in the coming winter and spring months.  In addition, the men's team will continue its partnership with the Valpo Parks and Recreation Department with their "#oneVALPO Soccer Sunday" program in February.
