Valparaiso University's David Peterson (Schererville, Ind./Highland H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after posting three victories against Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The sophomore won the 200 individual medley by more than a second with a time of 1:59.46. He then posted a victory in the 200 breaststroke, cruising to a six-second win after touching the wall in 2:11.84. Finally, Peterson swam the breast leg of the victorious 400 medley relay that finished with a time of 3:43.99.
The award marks three straight weeks Crusader swimmers have captured Athlete of the Week honors. Peterson also won the award on January 4, while teammate Travers Smith (Huntley, Ill./Huntley H.S.) took home the honor on January 11.
