Valparaiso University's Ben Dunham-Freer (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands H.S.) was named the first Mid-Continent Conference men's tennis Player of the Week for the season following four victories at the Bradley Invitational.

The junior registered a pair of victories at first singles for the Crusaders in matches against Wisconsin-Green Bay and Creighton. His victory over UWGB was in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, while having to rally from a set down for the win against the Blue Jays 4-6, 6-2, 10-3.

Dunham-Freer also teamed with Jeff Vrabel (Allen Park, Mich./St. Francis Cabrini H.S.) for a pair of doubles wins. Playing at the top spot, they defeated Mid-Con foe UMKC 8-3 before downing Illinois-Chicago 8-6. They also lost a tough 9-7 decision to Bradley.

The Crusaders will return to action September 26-28 at the Ball State Invitational.
