Schorsch, Bacalla Named to All-Horizon League Teams

The Horizon League announced its All-League Teams Thursday night at the Awards Banquet in Ann Arbor, Michigan ahead of the Conference Tournament.

Jeffrey Schorsch (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) was elected Freshman of the Year in addition to being named a First Team selection. Schorsch set the school record for singles victories in a season with 26, shattering the previous mark of 20.  

Freshman Dave Bacalla (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) was announced as a member of the All-League Second Team after going 24-9 in his first season in the Brown and Gold. Bacalla enters the Horizon League Conference Tournament on a three-match winning streak in singles play.

"I'm very proud of both Jeffrey and Dave. They've carried a heavy load at the top of our lineup and their records speak for itself. They're very deserving of this recognition," head coach Jim Daugherty said.
