Michigan State Sweeps Crusaders

The Valparaiso men's tennis team dropped a non-conference match to Michigan State 7-0 on Saturday afternoon in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The Crusaders were swept in all three doubles matches as Michigan State won the first point of the match. Ben Dunham-Freer (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands H.S.) and Jeff Vrabel (Allen Park, Mich./St. Francis Cabrini H.S.) played the closest match at first singles, falling 8-4.

The Spartans also swept all six singles matches in straight sets. Dunham-Freer, playing at the top spot, was involved in the tightest contest, dropping a 6-4, 7-5 decision.

Valpo (0-2) will return to the courts on Sunday morning when they play at Western Michigan in a 10 a.m. CST contest.
