Western Michigan Shuts Out Valpo

For the second straight day, the Valparaiso men's tennis team was shut out, this time falling 7-0 at Western Michigan on Sunday morning in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The Broncos, which entered the match ranked 46th in the latest ITA National poll, began by sweeping the doubles point. Chris Widmeyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Archbishop Moeller H.S.) and Jay Adams (Detroit, Mich./Andover H.S.) took the most games from Western Michigan, falling 8-4 at second doubles.

In singles play, Valpo (0-3) was swept in straight sets in all six matches. Widmeyer was again involved in the Crusaders closest match, falling 6-2, 6-3 at fourth singles.

The Brown and Gold will take three weeks off before returning to the courts on February 22 at Northern Illinois.
