Bradley Squeaks Past Valpo Men

Bradley rallied during singles action to post a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Valparaiso on Saturday afternoon at the Northwest Athletic Club.

The Crusaders started the match strong and won the doubles point with a pair of victories. Ben Dunham-Freer (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands H.S.) teamed with Jeff Vrabel (Allen Park, Mich./St. Francis Cabrini H.S.) for an 8-3 win at the top spot. Tyler Neemann (Manassas, Va./Stonewall Jackson H.S.) and Nathan Gordon (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth H.S.) needed a tie-breaker before prevailing 9-8 (7) at third doubles.

In singles action Bradley rallied to post four victories to pull out the match. Vrabel tallied a 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 win for the Brown and Gold at second singles, while Neemann won 6-3, 6-4 at fourth singles for Valpo's two points. Dunham-Freer went three sets before falling 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 at the top spot.

The Crusaders will return to action on Friday afternoon when they host Wright State beginning at 3 p.m.
