Valpo Men Announce Spring Tennis Schedule

Valparaiso University head men's tennis coach Jim Daugherty has announced his 2005 spring schedule.

The Crusaders have 21 matches scheduled this spring, including its six Mid-Continent Conference battles. The Brown and Gold will play four contests in Florida during Spring Break as well.

The spring season opens on January 15 as Valpo travels to Ball State. The Crusaders will host Bradley in their home opener on February 11 at the Northwest Athletic Club. Butler will also visit Valparaiso on April 13 for a match scheduled at Brown Courts.

The Crusaders' spring trip to Florida included contests with Villanova, Stetson, Bethune-Cookman, and Embry Riddle from March 6-9.

Valpo will head to Mid-Con clusters on April 15-16 in Kansas City, Mo. and April 22-24 in Macomb, Ill. leading up to the Mid-Continent Conference Men's Tennis Tournament to be held April 28-29 in Indianapolis, Ind. on the campus of IUPUI.

This past fall, Valpo split a pair of dual matches while also participating in three different invitationals. Daugherty's squad finished 6-15 overall and 3-3 in the Mid-Con last spring, finishing in fourth place. Valpo fell 4-1 to IUPUI in the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament semifinals.
