Freshman Charlie Emhardt (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) won his eleventh consecutive singles match Sunday, but the Crusaders' seven-match winning streak hit a road bump at DePaul in a 6-1 loss at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.

All three doubles matches went the distance as the Blue Demons walked away with the doubles point with 8-6 wins at No. 1 and 3.

Filip Dzanko and David Vieyra outlasted Dave Bacalla (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) and Daniel Oakes (Elburn, Ill./Saint Charles North) atop doubles before Jeffrey Schorsch (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg/Ohio) and Emhardt knotted doubles competition with an 8-6 victory over Sten Leusink/Kyle Johnson at No. 2 doubles. DePaul's Adam Reinhart/Jan-Willem Feilzer clinched the point at No. 3 via the aforementioned 8-6 defeat of Eric Honert (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley) and Lucas Waak (Manitowoc, Wis./Roncalli).

Sophomore Michael Savaglio (Kenosha, Wis./Mary D. Bradford) dropped his match at No. 3 singles to Vieyra 6-3, 6-1. Depaul's Dzanko followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Schorsch at No. 1 for a 3-0 Blue Demons lead.

DePaul secured the match after Johnson downed Kyle Dunn (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5.

Honert took Joshua Schramm to three sets before falling 5-7, 6-4, 10-1.

Emhardt cruised to a 6-4, 7-5 triumph over Corwin at No. 6 singles for his 11th straight win.

Leusink and Bacalla went a hard-fought three sets at No. 2 before Leusink claimed the victory, 4-6, 6-3, 10-5.

The Crusaders (14-4) get back to Horizon League play Saturday with a home match versus Wright State. Valpo and the Raiders kick off at 2 pm CT at The Courts of NWI.
