Three Crusaders Earn Mid-Con All-Conference Accolades

Valparaiso University had three representatives named to the All Mid-Continent Conference Team for Men's Outdoor Track and Field following the completion of the league championships held last weekend.

Joshua Lee (Yellow Jacket, Colo./Montezuma-Cortez H.S.), Kristopher Schmautz (Missoula, Mont./Hellgate H.S.), and Adam Wierciak (Ottawa, Ill./Marquette H.S.) each earned the honor.

Lee finished in second place in the long jump with a leap of 22'8", two feet further than the third place competitor. The junior fell just 2 ½" inches shy of the title.

Schmautz placed third in the javelin. The sophomore turned in a toss of 169'4", a season's best.

Wierciak finished third in both the 110m and 400m hurdles. In the 110m event, the senior ran a time of 15.25 seconds, while his 400m time of 54.80 seconds was just .05 seconds out of second place.
