Wierciak Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Valparaiso University's Adam Wierciak (Ottawa, Ill./Marquette H.S.) has been named to the College of Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) Academic All-District V First Team for track and field.

Wierciak earned a 3.85 cumulative grade point average while majoring in civil engineering at Valpo.

The senior earned All Mid-Continent Conference honors during both the indoor and outdoor season this past year. He is the school record-holder in the 200m hurdles indoors and the 400m hurdles outdoors. Wierciak also was a member of the indoor distance medley relay that set a school mark.

Wierciak is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-American consideration. In order to be eligible for Academic All-American and All-District consideration, student-athletes must be at least sophomores in both academic and athletic standing who have completed one full academic year at their nominating institution, and they must own a minimum of a 3.20 cumulative GPA. District V is made up of CoSIDA's voting members in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Manitoba, and Ontario.
